Make a date with a dress in Frocktober!

Bournemouth boutique Fab Frocks of Westbourne is appealing to UK women to get frocked up this winter. The Frocktober campaign is being launched in October to encourage women to wear more dresses.

Fab Frocks owner Tracie Beardsley says:

“So many women believe trousers are more practical in winter but dresses are a fantastic asset to any women’s wardrobe. Wear them with thick tights and boots or glam them up with heels. It’s just so easy and you can get as much wear out of a dress, if not more than trousers, plus there’s no extra expense or hassle of buying a top to go with them. We’ve even got designs of dresses that don’t need ironing which makes them fantastically low maintenance.”

According to the award-winning boutique, dresses also suit the modern woman’s lifestyle. Tracie says:

“Our ‘DESK TO DUSK' dress collection is perfect for busy women who don’t have time to change between leaving the office and going to an event after work.

“The warmer weather in the summer saw lots of women enjoying wearing dresses with sales of summer dresses increasing and we want to continue this trend through the colder months too.  It’s time to ditch the drab jeans, lose those unflattering  leggings and get frocked up.

“ The TV weather girls are really leading the way when it comes to dresses and are proving a great advert for frocks.  We’ve had lots of women coming in wanting the panelled dresses and fashionable dresses with sleeves which we’re delighted to say we have loads to choose from.  Morning television presenter Lorraine Kelly wore one of the dresses we stock on her TV show recently and we completely sold out.

“We want women to make a date with a great dress and feel feminine again. It’s a fact we wear 20% of our clothes  80% of the time so isn’t it about time we made that 20% right in terms of style as well as practicality?”

To celebrate Frocktober, Fab Frocks is giving away a designer dress every week throughout October. To find out how to enter, visit www.fabfrocks.co.uk

We love Camper kids!

With three awesome children's boutiques (Chelsea, Islington, and St John's Wood), Igloo Kids Clothing have got to be one of the best kid's outfitters in the UK. They have recently joined our directory and we just love their collections.

We particularly love their range of Camper shoes, so here is some more information on the Camper brand and some rather cute pictures of the Winter'13 shoes available at Igloo now:

The family behind the Camper brand began their business over 120 years ago. In 1877 the founding cobbler traveled to the UK to research the manufacturing methods of the industrial revolution.  When he arrived back in Spain he brought together his new found industrial knowledge with the best shoe makers of Mallorca. The company have always remained true to these beginnings – using cutting edge manufacturing without forsaking high quality craftsmanship.

The Camper brand was not officially born until 1975; its first Barcelona shop opened in 1981 and international expansion began in 1992. Their recent expansion has been rapid as their exceptionally high quality products and unique style have found worldwide fans.

For a brand that’s roots were in rural Spain (and remain there) the shoes are remarkably urban.  They are quirky and stylish - managing to be cool without being slaves to short term fashions. No one else makes shoes that look like Campers. City dwellers absolutely love these shoes because you can walk in them all day and they remain incredibly comfortable as well as being long lasting.

Camper use top quality leathers that are light weight but water resistant and that naturally flex with your foot without losing support. They include a top quality replaceable insole as standard, leather linings and extra cushioning. All these features make these shoes great for kids.  The shoes fit and support growing feet and there are lots of models with practical Velcro fastenings. Their designs are quirky and fun so kids love them. They are built to withstand walking, running, playing – whatever your kids can throw at them!
