Jacqui is 'model mum'

Glamorous mum and grandmother Jacqui Mason from Ferndown has been chosen by Bournemouth boutique Fab Frocks of Westbourne to be their official mother of the bride model.

The multi award-winning special occasion boutique launched a search to find a real mother of the bride or groom rather than a professional model to promote their wedding collections.

Jacqui, 54, entered the competition after being persuaded to submit her photo by her only daughter Rebecca who gets married this year.

Jacqui, who works as a part-time accounts assistant for her husband Glenn’s company Motorbitz, received the news on Mother’s Day.

Jacqui said: “ I couldn’t believe I had won! There’s been so much to prepare with my daughter getting married in September and my son also getting married in June – two weddings within the space of three months! I’d left sorting out myself to last but now I really don’t have to worry! Being a model has been a bit nerve-racking but I loved every minute of it!”

Jacqui experienced a makeover by A’Courts Hair Salon at Castlepoint followed by a professional photo shoot with Dorset wedding photographer Sophie Bowdler at The Lord Bute in Highcliffe. The shoot is being featured in a county wedding magazine. She also picked up a prize worth over £1000 with a designer suit from top Spanish designer Cabotine and Zeila, a handmade hat to match as well as shoes and handbag from award-winning shoe shop Doris and Daisy in Wimborne.
