This month, FE (Footwear & Fashion Extras) Magazine was kind enough to ask us what we thought of fashion retailers having an online presence, so here were our thoughts...

"With the value of online clothing and footwear sales hitting £1.7 billion last year, it's no surprise that so many independents are setting up websites in a bid to boost their sales figures. The internet is appealing to a wider demographic than ever before, so the potential to attract new clientele - particularly those who may never have walked past your actual store - is limitless.

The key word when it comes to establishing an online presence is searchability. Search engines are the first port of call for information, so directing those who are looking to buy towards your store and your brands is the secret to optimising your online success.

Of course, setting up a website requires time and dedication, which is why most retailers seek some sort of professional help. Our company allows retailers to establish a low-maintenance online presence within our website for a small yearly fee, allowing them to be discovered online without maintaining a website of their own.

One of our retailers told us that she tracked an increased number of visitors within a matter of weeks of being included within Find a Fashion Shop because the searchability of her store was so enhanced. Of course, Find a Fashion Shop is just one way of establishing an online presence and retailers can also look into online advertising or creating a dedicated website of their own. But however you do it, allowing customers online access to your store is a must."

An update on our condition...

Despite our best efforts, we are still exhibiting symptoms of a mild (ahem...) clutch obsession, so we were over the moon to receive images of the black patent version of the gold Carrie Valentine Confidence clutch, as used by Eva Longoria and a host of other super-stylish Holywood celebs. We loved this clutch in gold, but the black patent update, also from Red Ruby Rouge, really has us hooked - Winter fabulous!

Laura Lu is a super, young and creative jewellery designer who has produced some incredibly on trend pieces for this Season, including these stunning lariats and tie necklaces.

Talented New Designer: Sharlene Louise

Knitwear designer, Sharlene Louise has just joined FINDAFASHIONSHOP.CO.UK and we are loving her latest collection called, "This Is What Life's Like."

The collection is based on the contrast between life and working attitudes in Italy (where Sharlene spent time), and the UK, and features a range of felted garments in subdued colours with bright stripes along sections of them. Each design even has secret messages inside!

Says Sharlene, "Every design I have created has some attachment to the feelings and general attitudes and cultures of the people I meet."
